MEET THE TEAM
Rest assured your horse is in the very best hands with our first-class team of riders and handlers.
Our most petite rider who is our pony specialist and stable manager. Emily has a strong attention to detail and keeps the day to day running of Shory Park in order. Emily has a background as an allrounder, doing exceptionally well in dressage and showing on her team of horses. Emily has also done years of coaching and focuses on our junior riders and instruction that come through Shory Park. We would be lost without Emily on a daily basis who has been with us for years.
Savannah is our equine nurse on site who we share half time with local vet clinic. Savannah doubles for us specialising with young thoroughbreds and is the most patient, soft rider with plenty of natural feel. Out of Shory Park Savannah has a love for baroque horses, and plans to start a performance breeding program in the future with her young Friesian colt. She is also a dedicated showy, and travels all over Victoria to show her horses.
Milly has been with us for some time now and is a valued team player at Shory Park. She can jump on just about anything and has great communication skills with our clients that come through the gate. Milly has spent her life in pony club and HRCAV going up the grades in eventing on her thoroughbred and most recently breaking in her own 4yo Andalusian X who she is now campaigning in the dressage ring with a just about unbeatable record.
Director / Head Trainer and Coach
After growing up in horses for as long as I can remember, like everyone else I went through the Pony Club grades. Studied Equine Cert II before commencing Real Estate Sales and foundering my sales and negotiating skills that are so fitting for the industry I’m now in. Showing successfully as a teen and now moving to the dressage world with two young horses climbing through the grades. Nikki specializes in off the track thoroughbreds and loves starting young horses teaching them to be supple and correct and producing quiet horses ready for a new career after racing.
Keely is correct in her work as well as being bold, giving the young horses plenty of confidence. Keely has a wealth of experience in training OTTB’s and other breeds, from working at breakers and now riding up to 10 young horses a day. Keely has evented up to 1* and competed in elementary dressage. Keely is the newest member of our team but our senior rider and inaugural part of our team.
Everyone in racing knows this name. Sam has ridden track work for over 23 years, spending 14 years as an assistant trainer. There is nothing this lady cannot ride whilst being positive and soft at the same time. Sam is in charge of any breakers we get sent or any problem horses to work through, nothing is ever too much of a challenge. Sam lives and breathes horses, in her ‘time off’ you’ll find Sam competing her beautiful team of horses in eventing and show jumping – rarely unbeaten in a jump off! A great asset and important part of the Shory Park team.
