Matey retired from harness racing sound and had a nice spell before starting his retraining. When we begun he was very timid on the ground and takes a bit of warming up to his human but now super easy and fuss free to be around.
 
To ride Matey has been a joy, really bold and honest with a nice floaty trot. He is forward moving and likes a soft patient hand. If nervous and grab him up he will get faster, longer rein = more relaxed. Great brakes and a really lovely way of going. Has had a canter and understands the cue well but we have been working on his rhythm at the trot and focusing on keeping him nice and relaxed.
He is super honest over a jump, still learning but tries hard. Super to hack out too - bold and honest with or without others.
 
Matey came to us pretty light on and now a picture of health, shiny and a good weight - he does get hard fed and plenty of hay so please make sure you have address to this and a good budget to keep him looking his best as we’ve worked hard to get him here.
